Some questions and a short feedback from a new player

First of all: I like the game and am aware it's still under development. However there are some things I either don't understand, that don't work for me or that I may be doing wrong. Also English is not my first language so please apologize if there are awkward phrasings every so often.
Map: Dunes
Population: +/- 100
Buildings: sufficient tenements for 100+, hospital, chemist, 2 pubs, 1 theatre, all town buildings, tons of storage room, 5 crematories, sufficient food and water ressources
Satisfaction: +/- 50%
Balancing:
Crematories: No matter how many crematories I build workers never seem to catch up with the heaps of bodies rotting everywhere. And the problem intensifies since other survivers catch the plague from all those corpses and drop like flies as well. Where do I overlook a detail here?
Resources: I'm running three fully occupied scavenger's huts. However I seem to be only one restocking. For instance: In my current game wood never gets replenished by others than me. Is that working as intended?
Repairs: I also run four fully occupied repair sheds (spread all over town territory). Yet buildings start collapsing left and right. How long does it take them workers to repair and how many repair sheds are needed for a medium sized town? Do they need resources to repair stuff? I'd also love to manually initiate repairs on buildings whenever needed.
Housing: Citizens won't move into free tenements and prefer to rather die next to them of "low needs" (whatever that means). I simply cannot come up with a solution to this.
UI
I'd like to have an even better overview of the terrain, preferably the entire map. It's hard, more often even impossible for me to estimate a certain distance I need to travel with my avatar for resources. Being able to scrolling out even more would solve that problem for me.
Personally I don't like that "toggle to town leader" mode at all - continuously having to switch between avatar and player is literally disrupting the flow all too often.
I could use more feedback in this game. All in all the news and needs window isn't very revealing to me.

I'd like to build more effective. However the game won't let me. I cannot build everywhere, okay, but I frequently cannot even place structures next to each other on plain ground with a decent spacing. There's always something blocking the way. I learned there are supposed to appear roads between buildings later on, but how broad will they gonna be? Room is precious in this game and streets the size of highways are the least of my worries in the apocalypse.
