Just bought this game from the website and I'm still waiting the download to finish. Just wanted to say, I've been lurking for a while for this game and actually waiting for steam release for couple of months, but recently I saw the changelog on 0.0.8.2 and read the Update #26 so I decided to buy it from your website. Kinda happy how you guys are communicating actively here in your official forum as well as on Steam forum. Your humble reply on my thread:
I do really hope you guys can pull this off and hopefully have a succesful launch on EA phase. Considering I'm a Programmer, Developer, as well as a Student of Game Design Major, I do know sometimes on long-winded development path of a substantial project , every word of positivity can be a soul saver and not to mention an extra boost of motivation so I just want to let you know, some people are actually rooting for this game and appreciate your honesty regarding the strategy and development of the game moving forward. Your honest and straightforward insight on how you want to release the game, especially on how you approach the release date on comparison of other title, Frostpunk is actually really thoughtful and couldn't agree more about it. Slow and steady, while picking up your poison wisely and when the time comes, you all can go out with a bang.
Welcome to the forum and thanks for trying the game out at this early stage. I hope you enjoy checking it out now you can actually play it!
The people who buy this game so far have generally been really positive and encouraging. People who check out pre-alphas tend to be people who really love indie games. It definitely does help motivate the whole team. Atomic Society might turn out to be a 5+ year project by the time it's all done and so knowing there's a receptive audience for it makes a big difference. I still find it slightly surreal anybody has bought Atomic Society so it keeps us humble!
Sometimes when writing the blogs I think "should I really include this?" but it hasn't done us any harm so far!
