Buildings or Designated Areas
Grave Yards:
I already see several people face down on the ground or glitching under buildings so I assume that they died. I did see that the crematorium is an option in the future but not yet. As an alternative, adding a grave yard may help early game and can also effect the citizens morale when someone dies or when they go see a grave.
Research Lab:
Somewhere citizens can research new buildings or tools. Can either be a pre-selected research item or over time you get new research. With both of these options, the research would take a certain length of time depending on the number of employees and their rank in that field.
Other suggestions
Able to spin the building to face a different direction.
I am not sure if you plan on instituting a research ability so that your settlement gets more advanced over time but perhaps going that route may make more people interested.
Having a detailed population list. I have been clicking auto employ and see that sometimes it will hire someone either with the same name or possible the same person from another job. Having a list of employed people and unemployed would be useful. This could be something either implemented at the start of the game or when the Town Hall is built.
The "Stats" bars on the bottom left could have their own individual percentages.
Not sure how complicated this is but possibly adding lakes or waterfalls that can be collected from and learn to build purifiers from the radiation.
This one may be super difficult but at least for the Dune's map, adding the ability to build motorcycles to traverse the map more quickly would be awesome.
Auto Employee should fill all vacant spots or until everyone is working.
