Figured I'd start a forum introduction thread for members and future members of the forum. Doesn't have to go in any certain format just introduce yourself and maybe explain why you chose to become actively involved with Atomic Society.
Hi, I'm Tongkuta. Just a 23 year old with spare time on his hands and hopefully later this year will be doing 3d print work of models and artwork I already produce. I decided to become actively involved with the Forums on Atomic Society because I feel this game has a very unique feel to it even at its early pre-alpha stages. I've always been sort of obsessed with post apocalyptic sort of themes within games and even the concept in real life. It's unique and leads alot to the imagination. As far as the game mechanics and level of originality with the game design it caught my eye the instant I saw it on Kickstarter and backed it as soon as possible. Haven't looked back since.

Since this hasn't gotten any other replies, figured I would respond and maybe others will too Hi, I'm Adam, one of the developers on Atomic Society (and the only member who lives in the US). I was lucky enough to join the Far Road team last year after they had already put about 10 months into the game. Prior to joining the team, I had very little game development experience, so I consider myself extremely fortunate that they decided to let me join them. I'm unfortunately not able to work on Atomic Society full time, since I have a family to support (and student loans to pay!), so I work on Atomic Society in my spare time at night and weekends. My full-time job is as a Technical Architect working with C#, .NET and AngularJs applications, so some of my experience there helped me to pick up Unity quickly. What originally drew me to Atomic Society was my love of RTS games, especially the ones that Scott had told me were their main influences (Banished and Tropico). I'm hoping one day that we become successful enough that I can fulfill my dream of being a full-time game developer.

Hi, I'm DragonShadow, and I work in hospitality but my education is in video game art & design. When I'm not at work or goofing around with friends, I'll usually be playing and/or modding a game. I'm also (slowly) learning to program in C# and build games in the Unity engine as a hobby. I'm here because I have a passion for the RTS genre, and it is my absolute favorite type of game beside RPGs. When I saw Atomic Society pop up on IndieDB ,I loved the concept, both for it's themes and the ambitious uniqueness in gameplay. I was on the page maybe five minutes before I hit the tracking button and knew I had to play the game, hehe.

Hello everyone... My name is Becky, and I'm from New South Wales, Australia. I've been a huge fan of this game ever since I saw it on Kickstarter. I bought the Special Edition, and I've been thoroughly enjoying the game so far.
And a little about myself, my interests, and my quirks... Personal StuffI've got a wonderful boyfriend, and he and I have been together for nearly twelve years now. I'm a transgender girl. That means I was born with a boy's body, but now I'm a girl. I've been living full-time as a woman for about four years now. I count myself as being bisexual, or pansexual. I believe that a person's right to freedom and privacy is more important than any organisations' right to spy. TV and YouTubeI really like anime, particularly ecchi style anime like High School DxD, Kanokon, Testament of Sister New Devil, and Trinity Seven. I'm a big fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I'm also quite a fan of the old Disney Afternoon series Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers. I like Game of Thrones, which is probably my favourite contemporary live-action TV show. I also like Star Trek, Blakes 7, The Walking Dead and Seinfeld. In terms of YouTube, I'm a big fan of Jim Sterling, Angry Joe, Boogie2988, Cr1t1kal, and CinemaSins. I'm a big fan of zombies, in games, television and movies. MusicI love the heavy metal band Babymetal... and I'm the proud owner of an autographed copy of their debut, self-titled album. I like many genres of music, including metal, industrial, rock, pop, new wave (80s), house, dubstep, and J-pop. I'm not a big fan of a lot of the more recent R&B and hip-hop that seems to fill the charts these days. ComputersI love computers! I've been using a PC since I was four years old. My father was a programmer during the 80s, so I was exposed to a lot of computer equipment when I was young. The first PC I was given was an 80386DX. I'm a Linux enthusiast. I'm not against the technical prowess of the Windows OS, but I am against Microsoft's treatment of their clients' privacy and freedom. I run Debian Jessie on my desktop, and I occassionally switch to Windows 8 purely to run the odd game I can't get running under Linux or WINE. I'm not a big fan of Apple products. I have nothing against them, as compared to any other corporate OS or hardware, but I find their interfaces to be somewhat difficult and unintuitive. Computer GamingI love Bethesda games like Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and the whole Elder Scrolls series. I like playing good visual novels, like NekoPara, Danganronpa, and Steins;Gate. I like first- and third-person shooters, real-time strategy, and role-playing games. I've tried many MMO games, but never really settled on one for long. I enjoy modding games, especially immersive games like Skyrim. I like the Steam platform, but I don't like their censorship. I prefer mouse-and-keyboard input over controllers. I find controllers very difficult to use.
Feel free to add me as a friend on Steam... this is my profile: steamcommunity.com/id/miss_soda/I'm always happy to answer any questions anyone may have! Take care, and have fun!

I'm Mariana, the project's Lead Artist and co-director of Far Road Games. I'm also Scott's wife.. When I'm not busy with my day job (I work as a private tutor, and between Easter and June it's exam season), being artist on Atomic Society takes up most of my free time. I have always been "good at drawing", and even before leaving school I was doing small paid jobs making party posters for friends, designing covers, etc. I am a first-class Zoology and Applied Maths graduate, despite spending most of my undergrad free time playing Risk and card games. I later retrained to become a teacher. Two years ago I started learning to use Blender and loved it. On Atomic Society, I do all the 3D assets and 2D artwork (mostly working in Inkscape and finishing things in Gimp), as well as help Adam with the appearance of the UI. I do most of the boring company paperwork, and can even help the programmers when they want a third opinion on some hairy maths. When you're starting a small indie game company, it definitely helps to be a jane-of-all-trades! I love learning how to do new things, which is one of the things I love about games. I especially love playing puzzle games like sudoku and picross (even went through a Zynga phase, but I got over it ). But also play big titles when I can get them to run on my system. In the past five years, I've spent the most time playing Mass Effect, DragonAge, Banished, Minecraft, Skyrim and World of Warcraft (Scott and I met playing WoW back in 2005). I tend to try everything Blizzard release, since they got me hooked on Warcraft II in the mid-1990es. Scott is a massive fan of all things zombie, and inevitably has infected me with his enthusiasm of the genre. I found myself surprised to really enjoy a zombie survival game called 7DaysToDie a few years ago. I also greatly enjoy playing smaller titles like Her Story or Contradiction - now that I'm almost a grown up and have less time to play, I wish more games had as clear a start, middle and end as those games do.

Hi All, I'm Keir! I'm going to be around here as the Community manager for Far Road Games and to help with marketing. Basically so that the guys can spend more time developing the game instead of posting on twitter!
For my day job I work in eSports (League of Legends mainly!). When I'm not working I'm usually playing some kind of sport, video game or watching TV shows. I have no technical skills except with video software but I like to give my opinion anyway.
My favourite video games have always been Tycoon / RTS base building / strategy games but I'll play pretty much anything. Right now I'm mainly playing the GoT mod for CK2 as Rob Stark and it's going much better than it did for him in the TV show. I'll usually sign in to Old School Runescape once a day to check my investments and if I'm doing something boring I'll probably have an episode of Arrested Development on in the Background.
And i just realised i need a profile picture.

Hi There.
Hi there. I'm John. 31 from London UK.
I have been watching with interest and like what I see.
When health permits I work as a Writer, Voice Actor and once upon a time I was a Youth, Schools and Childrens Worker.
Game wise I am mostly into Real and Turn based Strategy and RPG(especially squad based). I also like the city builder/economy genre.
Big fan of Post Apocalypse as well, so this game is really looking interesting.
I also enjoy modding and game design and work with a few different teams. I also lead a mod team for Civ4 making a Fallout Mod.

Shits and gigs, why not? I'm The2ndHank, but you can also call me Hank II or Hank.2. Born upon the earth but have found myself in Australia for the foreseeable future. Living life as a student, though I'm thinking about changing that very soon. I recently (today) found and heard of your game through Imgur so after a bit of Googling I've found myself here. (Hopefully there are others who have done the same) Gotta say folks, it's looking promising. As a fan of the apocalypse and settlement games (Fallout 4 does not count) I really hope that this takes off. Grabbed myself a Special Edition copy to make myself feel special, and now wait to watch this game grow.
(can't figure out how to get my title of 'founder' up, can anyone give me a hand?)

Welcome to the forum Hank 2. Glad you found us. I've added your forum title just now. As a Special Edition customer you can email me (farroadgames@gmail.com) a first and second name and I'll put them in the next version of the game so survivors can start spawning with them. Your name will also be added to the credits... As soon as we implement a credits screen.

Hello!
My name is Mike, a.k.a. Fen, and I am a 23 year old Marketing Professional from Edinburgh, Scotland - Currently in the process of upping sticks and moving to Illinois, USA to be with my lovely fiance.
Came across your game, like I suspect many will today, on Imgur, and figured you guys deserved the $20 to keep this going - It looks like a superb project and something that I can see grabbing the attention of a lot of players.
Which, if you want/need any advice on social media marketing (CPC, targeted advertising, demographics, ad sets etc etc), advertising, inDesign stuff then please feel free to get in touch - Definitely a project that should be put in front of as many people as possible.
Keep up the awesome work.
Mike.

Hi,
My name is Julian, and I live in the Highlands of Scotland (UK) with my wife Tess. I stay at home mostly as I care for my wife.
I found this game on the Steam page. I was looking at Banished and Planetbase but thought this looked better!
Other games I have play are Minecraft, Age of Mythology, Art of Conquest, and Galaxy Online II
Genres I like are sci-fi, fantasy, zombies, aliens. My fav film is the original The Day The Earth Stood Still.
Don't get me started on the topic of real-life aliens because I tend to ramble on lol.
I like to garden, collect stones and crystals, many of which find their way onto windowsills and plant pots.
Well that's a bit about me lol

I had no idea Steam was recommending our game to people at this stage, considering it's not for sale there yet. Anyway, so what's up with aliens?! Yes, it is there categorised as an Early Access Game, with a link to the Atomic Society website, which is how I found out. About aliens, there are alot of them that aren't 'evil', like they are portrayed so much. There are alot of people about who believe they are not originally from this planet. I doubt anyone is if the soul/spirit is something we believe in. I don't think we have ever been alone. We also have a decent ammount of activity in the skies where I live. Some of my experiences of contact could be passed off as just dreams, but I believe something else is also going on, and it is just a convenient form of contact. I tried really hard to keep it short
