EDIT: And the patch is out! Click on your email link when you bought the game to get the latest version.
Here are the preliminary patch notes so you can see if it’s something you’d like download. (Latest content added in italics)
Features:
- Execution is now in the game! At long last the first of our core social outcomes is working. It will now possible to hang those who disobey you. What this means right now is that (if you wish) you can execute all those pesky murderers who are killing your citizens.
- 2 new buildings are now functional. In order to execute people, you will need to construct the Town Hall and the Punishment Centre. Think of the Town Hall as your court and police station in one. Workers there will enforce any decision you make. The Punishment Centre is the building that will hang (and later flog) wrongdoers – if you want them to. You don’t have to build a Punishment Centre but it’s necessary to execute people. Build a Town Hall to set the execution sentence and build the Punishment Centre to actually carry out the grisly deed.
- Options Screen: A basic options screen has been added to the game so you can now adjust graphical and audio options in the game. It'll be a bit bare at the moment but we’ll add more and more options as time goes by.
- The Tundra level (with snow effects) is now available to play on.
- New music track added - Outskirts. This has also been included in the soundtrack download for special edition customers.
- You can click on a citizen in a workplace menu and the game will zoom over to them and track them until you move the camera.
- Made it easier to tell where you can and can't place a structure without you having to click everywhere.
- Added a keyboard shortcut (currently I) that opens your town "Inventory" (no need to click on a storehouse to see what you've got all the time)
- The game now loads immediately from the desktop. (No Unity pop-up)
Bug Fixes/Tweaks:
- Added text that shows how many free slots the Town Leader has in his or her inventory.
- Added a message if you right click on any lake of water with some flavour text that explains why it isn't drinkable (radiation).
- You can now use + and – on the numpad to speed up or slow down time in both town leader and overview modes (this will be rebindable later).
- More special edition customer’s names have been added to the game. Thanks for sending them in!
- Fixed a crash that occurred if you fired workers too quickly.
- Fixed an issue with workers not leaving a building if they were fired or died.
- Fixed an issue that caused graphical corruption if the UI.
- And a ton of bugs to do with the new content!
Next for us is version 0.0.4. The current focus of 0.0.4 will be saving and loading. We understand how important it is in a game like this even if it means save games in one version may not work in a later one (a necessary gamble at this stage). We’re also planning to expand the Town Hall building so it gives you more useful info on what’s actually going on in your settlement. And some other things. Obviously things are subject to change.
Hope you like 0.0.3 when it arrives and thanks for supporting the continuing progress of Atomic Society. :-)
