How are people finding the challenge of building a sustainable town at the moment?
I quite like the brutal nature of the game as you can't truly fail - more migrants will keep coming to replace the dead - but I've been playing the game for so long I can't tell how newcomers are finding it.
Do you like the hard challenge of keeping people alive and piles of corpses or would you prefer a more laid-back experience?
It will get somewhat easier later on when we add in more buildings and let you upgrade existing ones etc admittedly (we'll also have easy mode etc).

Assuming a bug hasn't happened anywhere, my guess would be your placement of storehouses could be improved. If a citizen has to go a long way to eat, they're going to end up starving on the way.

well I managed to get to 100 people, then a bunch died and I seem stuck at 60 or less lol. I tried demolishing some of the water structures because they were filling up the stores too quick, despite people being dehydrated, and plenty of storehouses about. Same for meat and food. Are they dying on the way to the storehouses? I have them all over the place! But that's the fun, trying to figure it out. I think there needs to be a school to teach people how to use the storehouse before they starve lol. I have too many buildings and too few people at the moment, maybe that's it. I think the easy level is probably more my level, but it's a good challenge!
edit: I'm not sure about making it too easy or the challenge disappears and it is too easy to win. So even n the easy level I would like it to still pose some challenging events like mass outbreak of plague, or being overwhelmed by an influx of serial killers lol

Getting to max population with a high approval rating is the main puzzle of the game so we always want to keep that enigmatic. The new version will provide new mysteries to solve. I just need to keep my eye on new players to the game and make sure they're not so confused they tune out!

I am enjoying it so far! The difficulty seems to swing around a bit from mass die offs because I forgot to build a repair shack and my buildings start collapsing on everyone, to where things are just going nice and smooth. Good amount of randomness with population being backfilled by "encouraged" migrant populations as well. Overall the difficulty is absolutely playable, sustainable in-game, and fun!

Got to 270 the other night with 61% approval rating, on normal mode. Newest playthrough I've decided to be a bit more ruthless. DIE for everything other than being a vegetarian, no livestock farms, and so far running at 52% with 170 people.
